Intermission Documentation

How it works

Hello!

In these docs we explain everything you need to know about how Intermission works to monitor your website, which checks we run, when we run them and how we let you know when anything goes wrong.

If you are new to Intermission and have not yet created your account, please do that now, so you can follow the steps below to get started!

Getting Started

  1. Create a Project. A Project can contain many URLs which will all be monitored individually. Usually a project would be a single website - but you could even house a clients multiple websites under one project... the choice is yours.

  2. Add URLs to your project so we can let you know when they go down. You do not need to add all your URLs ( this is why there is no bulk tool ) and we advise that you do not. Generally we would advise that you monitor one URL per technology. For example an e-commerce website could have different systems powering the home page, the category pages, and the product pages. Therefore you could monitor one of each. Similarly your CMS website might also have an external blog - so you would monitor the home page and the blog as 2 URLs.

Now you are monitoring URLs you should head over to Notifications to make sure you know how to find out when there are any problems with your URLs.

Remember: Just because you can monitor every URL for a project - doesn't mean you should. You could end up getting spammed for every URL that goes down individually.
